(Acts 2:16-18) “In the last days I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters will prophesy. Young men will receive visions and old men shall receive dreams.”
(Jer 33:3) “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know you do not know.”
(Acts 13:1-4) “As they ministered unto the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said...”
(Prov 28:19) “Where there is no revelation the people cast off restraint”
(1 Sam 3:1) “Then the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.”
1. All the heroes of faith began with a hope, a vision, a dream. (Heb 11) And they held fast to it in the face of contradictory circumstances! Long term vision helps get you through all of life’s short-term disappointments. (Acts 26:19) “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” It was Paul’s vision that got him up early, kept him up late, and kept him going on through all his trials.
2. There is great power in a God-given Vision-Dream-Revelation. (Hab 2:1-2, Prov 29:18) Often even the pursuit of that dream brings great happiness and satisfaction. Without a God given vision we tend to become introverted and focused on the temporal, the limited, and the immediate. The Victory Vision was birthed in our hearts by the Spirit of God! It empowered us and it has been an empowering, progressive, expandable, worldwide vision that has captured the hearts of many!
3. Nothing brings healing to a bad past quicker than a Holy Spirit filled future! When you find a God-given purpose that is bigger than yourself and you pour your life into it, you will also find healing from a bad past and grace to forgive and go on.
“The visions and dreams I like are ones that come through prayer, deep imaginative thinking on the Word of God, and will help people, solve problems, and expand God’s Kingdom.” - Dr. G.S. Hill
Three Definitions Of Vision
1. Vision is the God-given ability to see possible solutions to everyday problems of life. People like: William Booth, Thomas Edison, George Washington Carver, James Simpson Young, Rockefeller, RA Letourneau – all sought God to solve a problem and ended up building enduring institutions that have greatly influenced the world!
2, Vision is the God-given ability to see beneath the surface of people’s lives. Discernment – the ability to see what others don’t. (John 1:42) “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas.” (Acts 9:23) “For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”
3. Vision is the God-given ability to catch a glimpse of what God wants to do through your life, if you dedicate yourself to Him.
One word, thought, or idea from God can spark off revival and move you into Holy Spirit directed and empowered service that transforms cities and nations! (John 1:1)
